PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

The River Source Rehab Center

Overview:

The River Source philosophy is based on an evidence-based & holistic approach, with a primary focus on healing the mind, body, spirit through the use of treatment plans created according to each individual’s needs. Our primary therapies include a blend of naturopathic and conventional medicine, clinically driven & trauma responsive group therapy modeled after the Hazelden Living In Balance curriculum, individual therapy, balanced nutrition, psychiatric assessments and consults, and a 120-day inpatient & outpatient continuum of care designed to keep clients engaged in treatment long enough for the body and mind to begin to heal.

We offer a variety of detox medications including Suboxone, Klonopin/Clonazepam and naturopathic treatments such as Vitamin IV Therapy, Amino Acids, and acupuncture during the detox process. Sauna Detox is available to help patients with their withdrawals symptoms.

Our residential setting is gender-specific to maximize the effectiveness of treatment and create a safe and healing environment for our clients. Our amenities and client room accommodations provide a residential, non-hospital feel so that our clients can remain focused on their recovery throughout the duration of their stay. Real recovery can be uncomfortable, and our mission is to provide a safe-haven where clients can begin to navigate the wide spectrum of emotions that arise in the early stages of recovery.

The River Source provides multiple levels of outpatient treatment. Allowing for clients to stay engaged in treatment while they resume their life outside of treatment. Outpatient services can be a place for clients to process stressors associated with their jobs, families, or other obligations. Long-term outpatient programs are a critical component to achieving the best treatment outcomes. Using structured counseling, evidence-based therapy, and a holistic approach to recovery, our outpatient drug and alcohol rehab program is structured to help clients build and refine the tools and skills needed to support lifelong sobriety.

Lifetime Alumni services are offered to all clients who complete one or more programs with The River Source, providing a community for clients to stay engaged in their recovery and connected to something bigger than themselves. Staying connected post-treatment is extremely important, and our lifetime alumni services provide a confidential forum for sharing resources, celebrating milestones, or reaching out to members of The River Source treatment team.

Our Recovery Guarantee: The River Source believes that a proper length of stay and continuum of inpatient and outpatient services is the key to better treatment outcomes. We understand that we cannot guarantee recovery for each client, but we can guarantee that if a client relapses after successful completion of our 120-day program, they may return to treatment for no additional cost.

***Virtual telehealth outpatient services are available allowing us to support clients who may prefer to stay home during these unprecedented times. Addiction does not stop during a pandemic, and it is our responsibility to provide services to all who need them

Treatment:

Alcoholism:

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Dual Diagnosis:

People who suffer from substance abuse disorders and mental health disorders are diagnosed as having co-occurring conditions, something also referred to as a dual diagnosis. At The River Source, they see co-occurring disorders frequently. Their medical professionals are experienced in this field and have worked successfully with dual diagnosis treatment programs for clients for years.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse:

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid Addiction:

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Levels of care:

Medically Assisted Detox:

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. The River Source combine medical and naturopathic detox treatment, including sauna detox.

24-Hour Clinical Care:

At certain points in the recovery process, it’s important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Intensive Outpatient:

Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) is ideal for recovering addicts and alcoholics seeking structure and support in their current environment. To accommodate all schedules, they offer flexible times that allow patients to tend to their daily responsibilities while getting the treatment they need to remain clean and sober.

Inpatient:

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. The River Source offers a separate rehab treatment for women and another for adults.

Aftercare Support:

Recovery is a lifelong pursuit and success is dependent on the individual’s active follow-up with the aftercare rehab plan developed by the client, therapist, and other healthcare professionals prior to graduating treatment. The purpose of the continuing care plan is to help the addict eliminate the temptation to use again. Services may include: use of the naturopathic clinic, sobriety checks, alumni accountability, weekly groups and/or 12 step meetings, or you may partake in their online continuing care.

Intervention Services:

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict’s behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Outpatient:

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Clinical services:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient’s own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Couples Therapy:

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person’s life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eating Disorder Treatment:

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction.

Experiential Therapy:

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Family Therapy:

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness Therapy:

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group Therapy:

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Hypnotherapy:

Hypnotherapy (aka guided hypnosis) can be used as a therapeutic modality to treat substance use, especially in terms of quitting smoking cigarettes (nicotine). Clinical hypnotherapists help clients turn their attention inward, accessing unconscious or subconscious material, and then make suggestions that are healthier for the individual. The process can help clients make deep, positive, and lasting changes, including ceasing addictive habits.

Individual Therapy:

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills:

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing:

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition Therapy:

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Rational Behavior Therapy:

Rational Behavior Therapy (RBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy meant to be short-term and comprehensive. It was intended to help clients become more self-sufficent and move forward without the need for expensive, ongoing therapy. It includes an emotional self-help method called “rational self-counseling,” the purpose of which is to give clients all the skills needed to handle future emotional issues by themselves, or with significantly less professional help. For those interested on improving their spirituality, The River Source offer a faith based recovery program.

Trauma Therapy:

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client’s past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
